PI37395: WHEN CREATING MINI LOG BY DB2CAT, UNUSED SPACE IS NOT RELEASED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When Change Accumulation Tool setup panels are updated by a TCz
  control file update job, the Primary, Secondary fields for space
  are updated without leading zeroes.
  .
  When Minilog primary, secondary fields are updated without the
  leading zeroes this causes few different issues
  
  1. Secondary space is not allocated corrected causing D37.
  2. unused spaces is not released.
  

Local fix

• As a workaround user can go to:
  .
  'option 0 - User Settings', then 'option 2 - Specify DB2 Change
  Accum parameters' to update the control file for the DB2
  subsystem where this problem occurs.
  On the GGCPNL2 panel, there are some parameters for the mini
  logs.
  Depending on screen configuration they may need to page down to
  see these parameters. They looks like this:

  Mini Logs
  Device type. . . . . . SYSDA    (DISK, SYSDA, etc.)
  Data set type. . . . . L        (B- Basic, L - Large)
  Track or cylinder. . . C        (T - Trk, C - Cyl)
  Primary quantity . . . 00000030 (1 to 16777215, disk only)
  Secondary quantity . . 00000010 (1 to 16777215, disk only)
  Maximum volumes. . . .          (1 to 255)
  SMS data class . . . .          (1-8 characters or blank)
  SMS storage class. . .          (1-8 characters or blank)
  SMS management class .          (1-8 characters or blank)
  .
  Change one of the values (for example 'Use DB2 Sort when
  possible') and hit ENTER.
  The value can then be changed back to its original value. And
  again hit ENTER.
  This update should refresh the information in the control file.
  Once this is done, the job can be rerun.
