Error description

  • OBJECT COMPARE - SUPPORT NEW PARAMETERS TO CONTROL AUTO
    REORG/REBUILD FOR ALTER...STOGROUP STATEMENT.

Local fix

  • NONE.
    Workaround:
     1. Add &CCQ_LPR_JOBCARD as the line 1

     2. Change ORDER=GOCB10.SGOCSAMP to
     ORDER=&CCQ_GOC_HLQ..SGOCSAMP as below:
    Before:
     //LSCLIBS JCLLIB ORDER=GOCB10.SGOCSAMP
    After:
     //LSCLIBS JCLLIB ORDER=&CCQ_GOC_HLQ..SGOCSAMP
     3. Change SSID=DSNA to SSID=&CCQ_DB2_SSID as below:

     Before:
     //GOCCM    EXEC GOCCM,SSID=DSNA,PLAN=ADB
     After:
    //GOCCM    EXEC GOCCM,SSID=&CCQ_DB2_SSID,PLAN=ADB

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When using the 'ALT Redefine Index' line command, Object
    Compare, the CM function, and the REORG or REBUILD auto
    utilities are being issued by the Batch Restart program
    ADBTEP2 and a duplication of the explicit utilities is
    being executed within the Work Statement List ( WSL ) or
    the APPLY batch job for altering the STOGROUP attribute
    on the table space or index.

Problem conclusion

  • For ALT, Object Compare and CM Online paths:

    A new option 'Auto Reorg/Rebuild after STOGROUP change' has
    been added to panel ADB2UPA 'Batch Job Utility Parameters'
    to control whether performing an automatic REORG or REBUILD
    in Batch Restart Program ADBTEP2 for altering the STOGROUP
    attribute on the table space or index. If it is set to 'YES',
    the value 'YES' will be passed to the ADBTEP2 jobs as a
    parameter. If it is set to 'NO' or blank, no value will be
    passed to ADBTEP2 jobs because the default value to ADBTEP2
    is 'NO' when the parameter is missing.

    There is an exceptional case that if the option 'Run
    REORG/REBUILD' on panel ADBPALT 'Build Analyze and
    Apply Job', on panel GOC5 ' Generate Compare Jobs' or on
    panel ADB2C11A 'Generate Analyze Job' is set to "A - All
    relevant', 'NO' will be seen as the value for this parameter
    during the passing of the value to ADBTEP2, eventhough it is
    set to 'YES' on panel ADB2UPA so that the auto utilities
    like REORG or REBUILD will not be performed after executing
    the alter of the STOGROUP statement on the table space or
    index, resulting in no duplication between these auto
    utilities and explicit utilities within the WSL or APPLY
    batch job.

    For CM Batch path:

    A new parameter adbtep2_stogroup_auto_reorg_rebuild has been
    added in the CM Batch jobs to control whether performing an
    automatic REORG or REBUILD in ADBTEP2 for altering the
    STOGROUP attribute on the table space or index. If the
    parameter run_reorg_rebuild is set to 'A - All relevant' for
    analyzing a change, this parameter will be reset to 'NO' for
    building a run job or running a change so that the auto
    utilities like REORG or REBUILD will not be performed
    after executing the alter of the STOGROUP statement on
    the table space or index, and the following warning
    message ADB9720W will be issued.

    ADB9720W During the <run change> process, the parameter
          adbtep2_stogroup_auto_reorg_rebuild is set to
          NO by force because the parameter run_reorg_rebuild
          has been specified to A to generate REORG and
          REBUILD utilities from the analyze process.
    System action: None.
    User response: None.

    The definition for parameter
    adbtep2_stogroup_auto_reorg_rebuild:

    adbtep2_stogroup_auto_reorg_rebuild

        The adbtep2_stogroup_auto_reorg_rebuild parameter specifies
    whether the product, when a change is run, initiates a REORG
    or REBUILD for the table space or index to implement the
    effect of altering STOGROUP attribute. For the complete

    Values:
        YES
          The product automatically attempts a REORG or REBUILD
          for the table space or index after SQL statement ALTER
          STOGROUP is executed. However, if the parameter
          run_reorg_rebuild was specified as 'A - All relevant' to
          generate an explicit REORG or REBUILD during the
          change flow, then the value NO is passed to ADBTEP2. The
          NO value prevents an automatic REORG or REBUILD that
          duplicates the explicit REORG or REBUILD.
        NO
          The product does not automatically attempt a REORG or
          REBUILD for the table space or index after SQL statement
          ALTER STOGROUP is executed.

    Default:
        NO
