APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If a label has long text with no delimiter or breaks, the
    resultant UI display overlaps the actual field value, making it
    unreadable.
    
    
    Prerequisites:
    
    Baseline OP 7.0.0.3.1
    
    Create basic entity structure and assign to profile
    
    1.	Log into the OpenPages application server as an administrator
    (eg. OpenPagesAdministrator)
    2.	Navigate to Administration -> Profiles
    3.	Click on OpenPages ORM 7.0.0. Master
    4.	Scroll down to the bottom and click on the Associate button
    under Associated Users
    5.	Select OpenPagesAdministrator and click Associate
    6.	At the top of page, click the drop down next to the user name
    and select ?My Settings?
    7.	Make sure the Locale is set to U.S. English. If not, click on
    the Edit button and change to U.S. English, then save.
    8.	Navigate to Organization -> Business Entities
    9.	Click on the Add New button
    10.	Enter Ent01 as the name, and select OpenPagesAdministrator
    as the Executive Owner, then and click Create
    
    Steps to Reproduce:
    
    1. Log into the OpenPages application server as an administrator
    
    2. Navigate to Administration -> Object Text
    3. Scroll down to SOXBusEntity and click on the + to expand the
    object
    4. Under SOXBusEntity, expand the OPSS-BusEnt field group
    5. Click on Executive Owner
    6. Click on en_US
    7. Change the label to
    ?This_is_the_Executive_Owner_for_testing_purposes?, and click
    Save.
    8. Navigate to Organization -> Business Entity Overview
    9. Note the text of the Executive Owner overlapping the actual
    value
    
    Expected Results:
    
    The text label should truncate or at least stop overlapping the
    actual value
    
    Actual Results:
    
    The text label overlaps the actual value, making it unreadable.
    
    Error Message:
    
    None
    

Local fix

  • Use shorter text labels or use delimiters like spaces to break
    up the text
