As part of WebSphere Application Server startup, Compute Grid is
invoked for initialization during server startup. If Compute
    Grid
is not configured to be operational, an error message is
inappropriately generated into the server logs.

Problem conclusion

  • The runtime code for Compute Grid initialization, invoked
during server startup, was updated to make the appropriate
checks for service disablement. If Compute Grid is not to be
enabled, the runtime will now exit gracefully and no error
messages will be surfaced to the logs.

APAR PI34897 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Pack
8.5.5.7 of WebSphere Application Server V8.5.
