Error description

• Reading from IEFRDER log results in immediate end-of-file and
  nothing is recovered.

  *                 into a recovery.                             *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The DRF BSAM READ function could        *
  *                      potentially skip or get EOF in certain  *
  *                      cases where batch logs are on DASD. I   *
  *                      bad instruction set DCBFBAD to the      *
  *                      addres of a USER exit list.             *

  * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF      *
  ****************************************************************
  A bad value in DCBFDAD caused DRF to get immediate EOV/EOF and
  not read batch logs on DASD at all. The bad instruction has been
  removed.
  

Problem conclusion

• The DRF READ task FRXRBUF0 set a bad value in DCBFDAD which
  caused BSAM READ to set EOV/EOF on first READ. The instruction
  has been removed.
