Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * Compute Grid * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Upon a restart of a top level job and a * * child job, the child job ends normally * * while the parent job fails. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Upon the restart of a top level job and child job, due to a missing call to the transaction begin() method, the top level job fails and returns to restartable state. In the meantime the child job ends correctly.
Problem conclusion
The Compute Grid runtime code was updated to correctly call the begin() method as part of the Top Level Job restart action. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in WebSphere Compute Grid fixpack 8.0.0.5.
