PI32832: APPLICATION NON-ZERO RETURN CODE IS NOT PROPAGATED BY PRF

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Application sets a non-zero return code but PRF does not
  propagate that return code through end of job.  For example:
  IRT021I PROGRAM RC=X'00000002'..
  IRT059I DETACH SUCCESSFUL
  IEF142I xxIMSBMP DFSDDT2 - STEP WAS EXECUTED - COND CODE 0000

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: PRF incorrectly sets the DFSRCC00 Job   *
  *                      condition code to 0 when it was set to  *
  *                      non-0 by the application running under  *
  *                      the IMS Region Controller.              *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  PRF sets the DFSRCC00 Job condition code to 0 even when the
  application running under the IMS Region Controller set its
  return code to non-0.
  

Problem conclusion

• PRF has been changed such that the IMS Application return code
  is retained so that the DFSRCC00 Job ends with the correct
  condition code.
