PI31859: ABENDS OCCUR WHEN STOPPING AND RESTARTING A PE SERVER SUBTASK

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During a shutdown and restart of OMPE an ABEND23E in FPEVDB2I
  followed by an ABEND0C4 in D5DCON.
  Issueing a stop,  F STCname,F PESERVER,P ssid
  followed by start F STCname,F PESERVER,S ssid
  without waiting for the stop to complete results in several
  abends and ultimatetly an 0C4 in D5DCON.

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  When the OMEGAMON Collector is up and running and the modify
  command is used to stop a dedicated monitoring PE Server
  subtask, a subsequent start command for the same PE Server
  subtask will cause Abends if the start command is issued before
  the monitoring PE Server ends.
  
  PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
  The code has been corrected accordingly. The start command is
  ignored until the currently monitoring PE Server subtask has
  completed termination processing.
