Error description

  • When we were testing RRS failure scenario, Queue Manager got
    ABEND 5C6-00E50076, then terminated with REASON=00F30420.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An application putting or getting       *
    *                      messages in syncpoint while RRS is      *
    *                      restarted can cause the queue manager   *
    *                      to terminate with reason code 00F30420  *
    *                      and CSQV086E error message.             *

    *                      Other abends can be generated as result *
    *                      of this problem. For example,           *
    *                      5C6-00E50017 in CSQSTACK or             *
    *                      5C6-00E50076 in CSQVEUS1 or             *
    *                      5C6-0094000E in CSQMCCMT or             *
    *                      0C4-00000004 in CSQVSRX  or             *
    *                      0C1-00000001 in CSQRUC01.               *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    An application has requested the queue manager to commit or
    backout a unit of work. While this is in progress, RRS is
    terminated and restarted. When RRS is restarted, a
    synchronization process is initiated to find and select units of
    work that were active when RRS was cancelled. Some of these
    units of work need to go to the deferred end of task (DEOT)
    process for termination and cleanup.
    
    RRS synchronization (CSQ3RRSR) can select and queue units of
    work for DEOT while they are still active in the queue manager.
    This results in units of work being terminated and cleaned up
    while still in use.
    

Problem conclusion

  • RRS synchronization (CSQ3RRSR) has been changed to check and
    wait for the units of work to be inactive before queuing them
    for deferred end of task processing.
