PI30370: OUTOFMEMORYEXCEPTION DURING EXECUTING BIG REQUESTS IN DATASHARING MODE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Getting data from DS Group with several DB2s can lead to
  OutOfMemoryException under the following conditions:
  1. Separate response from every DB2 requires less heap than
     available in JVM
  2. Summarized response from all DB2s exceed available heap in
     JVM
  

Local fix

• This APAR has the following possible options for a workaround:
  .
  1. Reduce the size of the query (smaller number of intervals).
  2. Increase the amount of memory available to the CAE server by
     increasing the REGION and CQM_HEAP (always keeping REGION at
     least 200M more than CQM_HEAP).
  3. Limit the initial drilldown to use just the SQLCODES
     drilldown followed by option D if necessary (these queries
     tend to be cheaper while Plan, Program, and Authid drill
     downs are more expensive).
