Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  * USERS AFFECTED:  All users of IBM WebSphere Application      *
  *                  Server Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)    *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Tthe SIP Container throws a             *
  *                      NullPointerException that causes some   *
  *                      messages not to be sent.                *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  The problem is when VH is defined as "*" on multiple IPs
  environment, the SIP Container throws a NullPointerException.
  Due to the NullPointerException the MESSAGES failed to be sent
  and as a result the users received 408 time out response.
  

Problem conclusion

• We fixed the NullPointerException, which resolved the 408
  timeout issue.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.5.5.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
