When using the 'Z.BA' command to navigate to panel ADB2ZBA2 to
alter a buffer pool, the pending new value for the PGFIX
attribute is not displayed in the table column PGFIX on panel
ADB2ZBA2 'Alter Buffer Pools' and also not displayed in the
PGFIX field on the follow-on alter panel ADB2ZBA8 'Alter
    Buffer Pool'.

Problem conclusion

  • The following changes are delivered:

    1. Keep the original behavior of DB2 Admin to display
the current value of YES or NO in the table column PGFIX
on panel ADB2ZBA2 and in the field PGFIX on the
subsequent Alter panel ADB2ZBA8 when the current value
and the pending value for PGFIX are the same.
    2. Change to display the pending value plus * (YES* or NO*)
in the table column PGFIX on panel ADB2ZBA2 when
the current value and the pending value for PGFIX
       are NOT the same.
    3. Change to display the pending value YES or NO in the
field PGFIX on the panel ADB2ZBA8 when the current
value and the pending value for PGFIX are NOT the same.
    4. The user can press the F1 key on panel ADB2ZBA2 to see the
new help panel ADBHZBA2 'HELP: Alter Buffer Pools' which
introduces the new changes for attribute PGFIX during an
       alter.

New help panel ADBHZBA2 has been added:

ADBHZBA2 HELP ---- HELP: Alter Buffer Pools --
    Command ===>

    Panel Explanation:

The table display panel shows the attributes that you can alter
on buffer pools. Notes for panel column PGFIX:

PGFIX Whether the buffer pool is fixed in real storage when
              it is used.
YES - The buffer pool is fixed in real storage. YES
also indicates that the PGFIX value for the
                     current allocation
(Current value) and the value for the next
allocation (Pending value) are the same.
NO - The buffer pool is not fixed in real storage.
NO also indicates that the PGFIX value for the
current allocation and the value for the next
                     allocation are the same.

YES* - Indicates that the PGFIX value for the current
allocation is NO but the value for the next
allocation is YES. The Pending value YES will
be displayed in the PGFIX field on the
following panel after entering an AL line
                     command on a buffer pool.
NO* - Indicates that the PGFIX value for the current
allocation is YES but the value for the next
allocation is NO. The Pending value NO will be
displayed in the PGFIX field on the following
panel after entering an AL line command on a
                     buffer pool.

    Valid line commands:
AL - Alter buffer pool attributes.
DIS - Display buffer pool incremental statistics.
