PI24845: CANNOT CONNECT TO TIBCO EMS VIA JNDI IF EMS IS NOT ON DEFAULT PORT OF 7222

Error description

  • Where the TCP port of the EMS server is not 7222 it is possible
to make a direct connection to the server, but an error occurs
when attempting to make a connection via TCP using JNDI:
"Failed to connect to the server at tcp://server-name:7222"

Likewise an error will occur if attempting to make a connection
over SSL using JNDI if the TCP port is not 7222.  (The default
SSL port of 7243 has been used when reproducing this issue.)
This does not impact a direct SSL connection (i.e. witout JNDI).

Local fix

  • Either connect without using JNDI or configure the TIBCO EMS
server to use the default TCP port (7222)
