PI23191: FAST PATH UTILITIES FAILS WHEN DRF INVOKES INDEX BUILDER BUT THERE ARE NO SECONDARY INDEXES FOR THE DATABASE.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The user specifies ADD IB( ).  The database has no secondary
  indexes so DRF should not invoke index builder.  However, it
  does and Fast Path Utilities fails.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: For a DEDB, the Index builder is        *
  *                      incorrectly invoked when a 2 stage      *
  *                      randomizer is coded in the DBD and      *
  *                      there are no secondary indexes defined. *
  *                      The PRENOLCH field has double purpose   *
  *                      with DEDB since IMS delivered Fast Path *
  *                      Secondary Index support. The usage has  *
  *                      been corrected.                         *

  * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF      *
  ****************************************************************
  A Fast Path DEDB with no secondary indexes defined incorrectly
  invokes the Index Builder after recovery. The field PRENOLCH
  usage for DBDB with a 2 stage andomizer coded in the DBD was
  corrected in this APAR.
  

Problem conclusion

• Recovering a DBD for Fast Path when a 2 stage randomizer is
  specified in the DBD may invoke the Index Builder incorrectly.
