Error description

  • Service account password that worked in previous AppScan
    Enterprise versions fail in version 9.0.
    
    AppScan Enterprise service account passwords that have worked in
    previous versions should work in version 9.0.
    
    The ASE service account password has multiple special characters
    (including ' ´ :   ^ ~  ).  When entering it in the
    Configuration Wizard, it passes the  verifying  stage
    successfully.
    However, when the Configuration Wizard goes to start the Tomcat
    service, it fails to start.
    
    Attempting to start the Tomcat service manually, a logon failure
    occurs.
    Edit the Tomcat service service and re-enter the ASE service
    account password and the Tomcat service starts as expected.
    
    Workaround:
    
    Edit the password to remove any special characters that is
    causing the password to fail. Then run the configuration wizard.

Problem conclusion

  • This issue is fixed in 9.0.1.1 and later versions of AppScan
    Enterprise.
