    * RECOMMENDATION: APAR FIX HI22386 AVAILABLE                   *
    ****************************************************************
GDPS/Active-Active Controller does not initialize correctly
when the local Multi-Site Workload Lifeline Advisor role does
not correspond to the default role of the GDPS/Active-Active
    Controller which is initializing.
This can lead to numerous problems including:
    - Failed Scripts
    - Incorrect displays on Web Application panel VPCWAWO1,VPCWAWOM
    - Routing actions initiated by Web Application buttons may not
       complete successfully
    - Change Master operations may not complete successfully

Problem conclusion

  • GDPS/Active-Active Controller initialization has been modified
to ensure that when a Controller initializes, its role (Primary
or Backup) will correspond to the role of its local Multi-Site
Workload Lifeline Advisor (Primary or Secondary).
Subsequent Change Master operations, and handling of AQS0164W
and AQS0189W messages will execute cleanly and leave the
    GDPS/Active-Active Controllers + Multi-Site Workload Lifeline
    Advisors in the correct states.

    ===========================================================

Message GEO1178A has been modified as follows:

GEO1178A PRIMARY LLA IS DOWN. TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION.

Explanation: GDPS/Active-Active has issued a switch prompt for
a Primary Lifeline Advisor failure based on message AQS0164W or
or AQS0189W issued by a secondary lifeline advisor.
    This prompt is issued when:
      - The primary lifeline advisor stops, and is restarted
as secondary (which is the recommended procedure for
        restarting an advisor)
      - The secondary lifeline advisor can no longer contact a
        Primary Lifeline advisor.
Action: Take corrective action to activate a Primary Lifeline
Advisor. Respond to the outstanding WTOR with one of the
    options listed in message GEO1172E.
      - Reply 'YES' to initiate lifeline advisor takeover on the
        Backup GDPS/Active-Active controller system
      - Reply 'NO' To SUPPRESS any action.

Note: GDPS/Active-Active performs the Lifeline Advisor
Takeover on the current GDPS/Active-Active Backup Controller.
This is in order to preserve the Multi-site Workload Lifeline
Lifeline routing state data, which is lost if a Takeover
is performed on the former primary Lifeline advisor.
