Error description

  • HPIC sets the compression flag and compression routine name in
the IC header record even when compression routine FABJCMP1,3,4
is not used due to IDRC. This causes problems for Database
    Recovery Solution Pack.

    ****************************************************************
IMS Database Recovery Facility can not recover database with
message FRD4284E ( MSGFRD4284E ), when the input image copy data
set is created by IMS HP Image Copy under the following
    conditions:
     - Invoked from IMS Database Recovery Facility.
     - COMP=Y
     - COMPRTN=FABJCMP1|FABJCMP3|FABJCMP4
     - Use IDRC feature enabled tape device
The cause of this problem is that the compression flag in each
IC record prefix is on though HP Image Copy has canceled the
compression routine when IDRC feature of tape device is enabled.
The same problem occurs when HP Image copy is invoked from IMS
Database Reorganization Expert when it handles the index
    database with ICTYPE=A and INDEXBLD=Y.

Problem conclusion

  • FABJDRQS has been modified to create compression routine
canceled image copy data set on IDRC feature enabled tape
    device.
