Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere eXtreme Scale clients using * * eXtreme * * Scale HTTP session management. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Session attributes are left in the * * attributes map with no * * corresponding metadata entry. These * * attributes will remain in * * the grid occupying space with no * * mechanism to remove them * * until the container is restarted. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Under certain circumstances, such as misconfiguration, exceptions, timing windows, or exceptions, session attributes might remain in the data grid after the metadata entry has been evicted.
Problem conclusion
WebSphere eXtreme Scale now has a task that runs periodically to check for and remove session attributes that do not have a corresponding metadata entry. This is only applicable for reuseSessionId=true.
