PI22005: MSGIEW2470E ISSUED AT APPLY OF PRF 'B' USERMOD

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Binder message IEW2470E is issued when SMP/E APPLYing PRF "B"
  usermod (for example IRT121B ) processing modules IRTPRE00,
  IRTRCC00 and IRTXRI09 - IRTXRI13.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When applying B Usermods, for example   *
  *                      IRT131B, several occurrences of Linkage *
  *                      Editor messages IEW2470E and IEW2457E   *
  *                      result. These are caused by             *
  *                      linkage editor control statements that  *
  *                      refer to external entry points that     *
  *                      are not needed by or are missing from   *
  *                      the module being constructed.           *
  *                                                              *
  *                      JCLIN member H23D220 had the same       *
  *                      issue so it is also updated.            *
  *                                                              *
  *                      Several source modules had missing or   *
  *                      incorrect comments, so those are also   *
  *                      changed with this APAR.                 *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply this service, then, if an IRTxxxB      *
  *                 Usermod was previously installed, re-install *
  *                 the IRTxxxB Usermod provided in this APAR.   *
  *                 Refer to the section in the User Guide       *
  *                 entitled, Copying IMS Program Restart        *
  *                 Facility Load Modules.                       *

  B usermods and JCLIN are changed to reflect correct module
  construction. Comments in corressponding source modules are
  corrected.
  

Problem conclusion

• Apply this service, then, if an IRTxxxB Usermod was previously
  installed, re-install the IRTxxxB Usermod provided in this
  APAR. Refer to the section in the User Guide entitled,
  Copying IMS Program Restart Facility Load Modules.
