Error description
A client application flowed an XA_ROLLBACK to terminate an in-flight request. The transaction was terminated with the expected abendAITJ and the following message was written by CICS: DFHIS0998 A transaction processing a request using IP Interconnectivity has abended with code AITJ. The above was expected, but the Java client application received return code 61444 and the Gateway object in the J2E server was closed. A subsequent transaction might also receive an unexpected ECI_ERR_SYSTEM_ERROR return code. Additional search words: msgDFHIS0998 abendAITJ 61444

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of CICS TG with IPIC connected * * CICS servers. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: rc61444 returned to the client * * application and the Gateway object * * closed. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When the Gateway daemon received an XA_ROLLBACK request for an in-flight transaction, it sent an XA_ROLLBACK to the CICS server. At this point CICS TG was in receive state and the CICS server was in send state, so the CICS server was not expecting to receive the XA_ROLLBACK. The transaction was correctly abended in the CICS server, but CICS TG incorrectly sent an rc61444 to the client application causing the Gateway object to be closed. CICS TG should have sent a PURGE instead of the XA_ROLLBACK. After cleaning-up from this error, a worker thread is left waiting for a response to the XA_ROLLBACK. It might incorrectly interpret a response for another request as the XA_ROLLBACK response and return ECI_ERR_SYSTEM_ERROR to the client application.
Problem conclusion
CICS TG has been changed so that a PURGE rather than an XA_ROLLBACK will be sent to CICS over an IPIC connection when CICS TG is in receive state.
