  Customer reported problem was SQLCODE -208 issued due to
  incorrect host variable substitution in ORDER BY clause

  Along with the following issues.
  
  SQLCODE = -104, ERROR:  ILLEGAL SYMBOL "("
  due to mishandling the following
  (1) CAST FOR .. <n> ROWS
  (2) ATOMIC clause

  VARCHAR column incorrectly referenced as CHAR leading to
  EXPLAIN SQLCODE -60,
