Error description

  • An A1 status code was received by the application after a CHNG
call to a modifiable ALT-PCB with an OTMA destination defined by
a Destination Routing Descriptor. The DRDESC table was built as
the result of a CREATE OTMADESC command which added this first
descriptor to the table. The DFSYDTx PROCLIB member does not
contain any DR descriptors. A QUERY OTMADESC command shows that
the descriptor exists in the system, but CHNG call processing
was unable to find it because the TSCD_DRDESC_AVAIL bit was not
set on by the CREATE OTMADESC command. This bit is set on if the
DRDESC table is built as the result of DFSYDTx descriptors. With
no OTMA descriptor found and no DFSYPRX0 exit defined in the
system, a "legacy" finddest is performed resulting in a call to
the Output Creation Exit DFSINSX0 to dynamically create a USER/
LTERM or transaction (DRD enabled). The exit rejects the create
attempt resulting in the A1 status indicating an invalid dest
was specified on the CHNG call. If the create was not rejected
the destination would have been created and the application
would have inserted a message to a non-OTMA destination.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: OTMA Destination descriptors from *
    * CREATE OTMADESC commands are not *
    * usable if there is no DFSYPRX0 *
    * and no descriptors in DFSYDTx *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF *
    ****************************************************************
OTMA Destination descriptors from CREATE OTMADESC commands
are not usable when there is no DFSYPRX0 and there are no
Destination descriptors in DFSYDTx PROCLIB member.
When the descriptors are created, they show up on the
QUERY OTMADESC command but are not usable since the flag to
    indicate Destination descriptors are available
(TSCD_DRDesc_Avail) was never turned on. This results in
either the output being queued to the incorrect destination
    or an A1 Status Code.

Problem conclusion

  • GEN:
    KEYWORDS:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
DFSYCMR0 was changed to set TSCD_DRDesc_Avail when it
successfully processes a CREATE OTMADESC command.

    Modules:
    DFSYCMR0 - set TSCD_DRDesc_Avail for successful CREATE
