Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS' panel ADBPVERD
  'Specify Data Set / Member Information' issues a message:
  'Verify failed' / 'ADBG002E Value for DSORG is not supported'
  if a user specifies a PDS for the 'Data Set Name' field but
  does not specify a value for the '*Member Name' field.
  

Local fix

• Enter a member name in the '*Member Name' field.

  *                      with the extended help message saying:  *
  *                                                              *
  *                      'ADBG002E Verify failed -- Value for    *
  *                      DSORG is not supported'                 *
  *                                                              *
  *                      The error message is not helpful when   *
  *                      identifying the actual cause of the     *
  *                      problem.                                *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  When a user specifies an existing DSN as DSORG = PO, without a
  member name, panel ADBPVERD returns an error message that is
  not helpful to the user:
  
  'Verify failed'
  
  with the extended help message saying:
  
  'ADBG002E Verify failed -- Value for DSORG is not supported'
  

Problem conclusion

• The following error message will now be displayed:
  
  'No member name specified'
  
  with the extended message saying:
  
  'ADBG004E No member name specified -- A member name is required
  for the PDS or LIBRARY'
