Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of the DECENA00 EDITPROC. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A storage leak occurred when the * * DECENA00 EDITPROC was executed. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The user did not move the contents of the Cryptographic Services Facility (ICSF) Cryptographic Key Data Set (CKDS) to a new system. When DECENA00 ran on thsis new system it did not successfully retrieve the key. DECENA00 error processing did not free storage. The problem was diagnosed when a very largwe number of transactions had been abnormally terminated, but continued to be scheduled resulting in DB2 storage management issues.
Problem conclusion
Additional storage release processing was added to DECENA00 user error processing. Relink the updated EDIT routine DECENA00 supplied with this APAR into all impacted existing user built encryption EDIT routines. No ICSF key management definitions are impacted so the same key labels can be used as specified for the original versions of the routines. Use the original link edit JCL that built each user EDIT routine to regenerate a new version of each routine. Be sure to recycle DB2 to ensure the updated versions of the EDIT routines are refreshed in the appropriate SDSNEXIT library.
