PI17396: STORAGE CONTRACTION OF 64BIT QUICKPOOLS MAY NOT CONTRACT ALL APPLICABLE POOLS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When the queue manager is short on storage and attempts to
  reclaim free storage by performing cellpool contraction of 64bit
  quickcells, some pools may not be processed correctly and
  freeing of storage may not occur.

  When storage pool contraction is manually triggered it will
  attempt to 'contract' existing storage pools to attempt to
  reclaim any allocated but currently unused storage in order to
  relieve the storage constraint.
  
  When the 64bit QuickPools are being contracted, in certain
  circumstances an incorrect QuickPool identifier may be passed
  to the storage contraction routine and the intended storage
  pool may not be contracted.
  

Problem conclusion

• Processing has been amended to ensure that the correct pool
  is contracted.
