Error description

• The following error is encountered in the Database Adapter trace
  file when accessing SQL Server Database using ODBC Adapter on
  HPUX.
  
  Error in SQLBindParam Message: [DataDirect][ODBC lib] SQL data
  type out of range
  SQL State: S1004
  
  Returned status: (-1055)
  Failed_to_bind_parameters_to_the_SQL_statement

Problem summary

• Users Affected:
  WebSphere Transformation Extender ODBC adapter users will be
  able to process stored procedure invocations that include
  timestamp values.
  
  Problem Description:
  The WTX ODBC adapter is unable to bind timestamp-based stored
  procedure parameters whenever using the SQL Server Legacy Data
  Direct driver.
  
  Platforms Affected:
  HPUX, AIX, Linux, Solaris
  

Problem conclusion

• The SQL_TYPE_TIMESTAMP data type (which is used in ODBC 3.0) is
  treated like the legacy SQL_TIMESTAMP value.  The legacy DD
  driver for MS SqlSvr on UNIX returns the newer value for stored
  procedures, while the WTX ODBC adapter was expecting the legacy
   ODBC value.

  8.3.0.6, 8.4.0.4, 8.4.1.1
