APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Your application issues an EXEC CICS SET MQCONN, and upon
    return from that call (whether successful or not) your
    application program expects the EIBFN field to contain x'CE04'.
    Instead you find it contains x'0E08' for RETURN, or possibly
    another value, but not CE04.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After an EXEC CICS SET MQCONN command, *
    *                      EIBFN contains '0E08'x.                 *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    An application issues an EXEC CICS SET MQCONN command, which has
    an EIBFN value of 'CE04'x.
    During the processing of this command, CICS modules issue
    further EXEC CICS commands which should be transparent to the
    application. However the EXEC Interface Block (EIB) is updated.
    As a consequence, upon return to the application EIBFN contains
    '0E08'x indicating that an EXEC CICS RETURN command was most
    recently performed.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHMQTM has been updated to ensure that upon return from an EXEC
    CICS SET MQCONN command, the EIB indicates that such a command
    was most recently issued.
