    ****************************************************************
When an application contains an ibm-web-ext.xml and is not
using the default XML parser the application might fail to
start because the ibm-web-ext.xml cannot be correctly parsed.
The problem is caused by certain XML parsers returning
the empty string instead of null as the default attribute
    namespace.
    The error received is:
    com.ibm.wsspi.adaptable.module.UnableToAdaptException:
    com.ibm.ws.javaee.ddmodel.DDParser$ParseException: CWWKC2265E:
An error occurred while trying to determine the version of the
    /WEB-INF/ibm-web-ext.xml deployment descriptor.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem is resolved by fixing the XML processing to
tolerate either null or the empty string as possible values
    for the default attribute namespace.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 8.5.5.3. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
