• In IBM Rational ClearCase, you cannot checkout a symlink.
  
  In ClearCase 8.0.0.8 or  8.0.1.1, when trying to checkout the
  symlink, you will receive the following error:
  
  W:\my_vob\dir2>cleartool co -nc foo.txt
  cleartool: Error: Not an element: "foo.txt".
  
  In ClearCase 8.0.0.9 or 8.0.1.2, you will receive the following
  error:
  
  W:\my_vob\dir2>ct co -nc foo.txt
  cleartool: Error: Not an element: "foo.txt".
  cleartool: Error: INTERNAL ERROR detected and logged with the NT
  Event Service.
  See the Event Viewer for the error message.
  
  In the Microsoft Windows Event Viewer, you will see the
