Error description

  • The OTMA User data section of IMS log records is incorrectly
    interpreted as an IMS Connect HWSOMUSR structure when the
    environment is not IMS Connect. This results in IMS PI Global
    fields that are derived from this section being invalid, or may
    result in an ABENDS0C4 in trying to address data beyond the end
    of the record.  This abend occurs when using the Find command
    on the ALZPRBRF log browse panel.
    
    The ABEND0C4 is in the Knowledge Module called from
    ALZBRAPI + 34F2. In this case the Knowledge Module was
    ALZBRFMT (ALZ35C) and was trying to address Global fields
    past the end of the current record, but may not abend in other
    cases where the address is valid as the choice of KM and/or
    record is variable.

Problem conclusion

  • In IMS records containing OTMA data if the 'User Data' section
    is not for IMS Connect then it is dumped
