• DB2 Object Compare generates IBM0023S ONCODE=670 when single
  quote is specified in target version file name in Panel GOC12
    Specify compare version file output:
     Version table entry:
     Owner . . .  hlq      >             (? to look up)
     Name  . . .  'QUOTE              >   (? to look up)
  

Local fix

• add quote at end of name.

  *                      entered, no error message is issued     *
  *                      on the panel.  When running the         *
  *                      generated Compare job, it fails         *
  *                      with an ONCODE670 /ONCODE 670           *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  In DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS, when specifying
  either the source or target version file to be saved into or
  retrieved from the version table on panels GOC11, GOC12
  and GOC13, quotation marks are not allowed for fields
  'Owner' and 'Name' of the 'Version table entry'. However, if
  a quotation mark is entered, no error message is issued on
  the panel. When running the generated Compare job, it fails
  with an ONCODE670 /ONCODE 670 error.
  

Problem conclusion

• Problem has been resolved.
  
  When a quotation mark is entered in the 'Owner' or 'Name'
  field of the 'Version table entry' on panels GOC11, GOC12 and
  GOC13, the following error message GOC004E / msggoc004e
  will be displayed:
  
  'Invalid chars entered'
  'GOC004E Do not use quotes in this field.'
