Error description

  • An abend occurs in CSQMOAOH after a handle was opened and
storage allocated. The recovery routine tries to free the
storage, but relies on a register based variable to do so,
causing random storage to be addressed.

In CSQMOAOH, if the storage for the new handle has been
allocated, but not yet used when the cancel of application is
issued, the recovery routine tries to free the storage again.
The basing pointer for the anchor block pointing to the storage
pool is optimized in a register, causing the free storage
routine to address random storage, causing the abend.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The code in CSQMOAOH was changed to ensure the pointer to the
anchor block containing the storage pool address is available
during recovery.
