APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• FPEV0223E  RS=00F30091 when RRS not active. System waits for
  RRS.  We currently retry for 10 seconds.  This apar will
  increase the wait time to 1 minute.
  .
  A restart of the STC or manual intervention is required.
  Use the following SDSF command to avoid restarting the STC:
  /F xxxxxxxx, F PESERVER,S yyyy
  where xxxxxxxx is the OMEGAMON Collector started task name and
  yyyy the DB2 subsystem ID

• Run this command to avoid restarting the STC:
  /F xxxxxxxx, F PESERVER,S yyyy
  where xxxxxxxx is the OMEGAMON Collector started task name and
  STC name and yyyy the DB2 subsystem ID

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  When the PE Server detects the start up of a DB2 subsystem
  which has to be monitored, the PE Server tries to connect to
  the DB2 subsystem for 10 seconds. If the connection cannot be
  established in time, message FPEV0223E is issued and no
  monitoring PE Server subtask is started.
  
  PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
  The code has been changed. The PE Server performs retry cycles
  until a connection can be established. If the connection cannot
  be established within a 5 minutes interval, the modified
  message FPEV0223E is issued and connect processing continues.

  CIRCUMVENTION:
  Start the DB2 subsystems first and then start the
  OMEGAMON Collector.
  
  TEMPORARY FIX:
  When message FPEV0223E is issued, the PE Server subtask
  can be started manually using the MODIFY command
  /F stc,F PESERVER,S ssID
  where stc is the name of OMEGAMON Collector started task
  and ssID is the DB2 subsystem ID.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code has been changed. The PE Server performs retry cycles
  until a connection can be established. If the connection cannot
  be established within a 5 minutes interval, the modified
  message FPEV0223E is issued and connect processing continues.
