Error description

• ABEND0C4 when SORT function is used by specifying SORT=YES,
  SORT=COND, or SORTHIDAM=YES and some kind of ABEND precedes the
  ABEND0C4.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND0C4 when SORT function is used     *
  *                      and some kind of ABEND precedes the     *
  *                      ABEND0C4.                               *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *
  ****************************************************************
  This APAR fixes following problems:
  1. ABEND0C4 when SORT=YES is specified and some kind of abend
     occurs after the sort process.
  2. ABEND0C4 when HALDB is reloaded by IPR Reload utility with
     DFSUINPT DD DUMMY and SORT=YES.
  3. ABEND0C4 could occur when virtual segment is defined and the
     input unloaded data set was created by IMS standard unload
     utility.
  4. HP Load does not create the "RUN TIME OPTIONS FOR THIS
     EXECUSION" part of FRRIN control statements report when both
     DFSUINPT DD DUMMY and SORT=YES are specified for HALDB
     reload.
  

Problem conclusion

• HP Load has been modified to correct the ABEND0C4 problems and
  to create FRRIN control statements report correctly.
  HP Load has been modified to issue HPSR3784E when VSAM EXTEND
  failure occurs in HPIO to make the reason of ABENDU0004
  approachable.

  | decrease the total size of database by one of the following:
  |  - Archive old data.
  |  - Use segment compression.
  |  - Divide the database data set into two or more data set
  |    groups.
  |  - Convert to OSAM or HALDB.
  |    If you are reloading an HDAM/PHDAM database, you can also
  |    decrease the total size of database by one of the
  |    following:
  |     - Adjust the SEARCH control statement to decrease the
  |       number of segments directed to overflow portion of the
  |       database.
  |     - Decrease the number of RAA blocks if there are many
  |       unused RAPs and the RAA has a high percentage of free
  |       space.
