Error description

  • This APAR addresses these issues:
    1. The commit mode flags CERE_3E_SVT_SYNCFLAG in the 3E message
exit returned from read contain invalid commit mode and sync
flags for a Resume TPIPE request. type3E RTPIPE
    2. There is a significant performance issue in the routine that
checks ACEE cache entries for deletion by aging time. This
is especially noticeable when there are a large number of
ACEE cache elements. There is no way for the user to specify
the size of the ACEE cache.
    3. It is not possible to enforce that all inbound messages are
processed by Rules Based Routing (RBR).
    4. The Definition Take-up utility SET OPTION has no effect, and
the default behavior was incorrectly set to WARNING=IGNORE.
    5. Field CERE_3E_SVT_SOCKFLAG is missing flag bits that have
       been added by IMS Connect.

    ****************************************************************
The following issues are being addressed in this APAR:
    1. The commit mode flags (CERE_3E_SVT_SYNCFLAG) in the x'3E'
message exit returned from read contain invalid commit mode
and sync flags for a Resume TPIPE request.
    2. There is a significant performance issue in the routine that
checks ACEE cache entry for deletion by aging time.
This is especially noticeable when here is a large number of
ACEE cache elements. There is no way for the customer to
specify the size of the ACEE cache.

Problem conclusion

  • The following changes have been made for the above issues:
    1. The commit mode flags shown event are not used for Resume
TPIPE as it is always Commit mode 0 synclevel confirm.
The OTMA state header built by the message exit for a Resume
TPIPE is not long enough to contain the commit and synclevel
flags that are being mapped into the SYNCFLAG field. This has
been changed to not attempt to collect commit mode and
synclevel flags for a Resume TPIPE.
    2. The ACEE cache routines have been changed to add a new ACEE
Cache element index so that the aging routine can search the
ACEE cache elements by creation time when it is checking for
ACEE cache elements that need to be deleted by age.
A new SECURITY command has been added to the CEXCTLIN dataset
that enables the customer to specify the size of the ACEE in
terms of the maximum number of active Userid's in the ACEE
    cache.
    3. Default RBR rules are defined using two new options on the
CEXROUTE CEXCTLIN command. If the datastore or alias in the
the inbound message is not matched to an RBR rule, the
appropriate default RBR rule is used.
    4. The Definition Take-up utility has been updated to process
the SET OPTION correctly. The default is now WARNING=ABORT.
    5. Added the missing flag bits to event record macro CEXCR62.
