Error description

When working in an IBM Rational ClearCase dynamic view, users
are able to create view private files with the read-only bit
set.  The user who created the view private file can remove the
read-only bit.

If a user leaves the company or is gone for an extended period
of time, it is expected that a user who is a member of the
ClearCase server process group should be able to remove the
read-only bit so the file can be modified or deleted.

When trying to do this as a local admin on the system as well as
a member of the ClearCase group, you will get the following
error:

Z:\vob\dir1?attrib ro_test.txt
     R       Z:\vob\dir1\ro_test.txt

Z:\vob\dir1?attrib -r ro_sue_test.txt
Access denied - Z:\vob\dir1\ro_sue_test.txt

Problem conclusion

A repair tool is available which can be used by a privileged
user to remove the read-only attribute from view-private files.
Please contact IBM Rational Customer Support for more
information.

A fix is available in ClearCase versions 8.0.0.12 and 8.0.1.5
