Error description

• DB2 V10 DSNTIJCI TERMINATES WITH SYSTEM ABEND04E, REASON
  CODE 00E40005 & 00E40347 DURING CHECK INDEX PROCESSING.
  DB2 expected statistics to exist, but in this state of migration
  and limited migration window, it required the customer to issue
  RUNSTATS separately against the known DSNTIJCI catalog objects.
  

Local fix

• Run RUNSTATS against the Catalog objects in the DSNTIJCI job
  and then resubmit DSNTIJCI.

  DSNTIJCI is an optional job that can be used to check all
  indexes on DB2 catalog and directory spaces that are added or
  modified by the enabling-new-function mode (ENFM) job,
  DSNTIJEN.
  
  Currently, if DB2 Real Time Statistics (RTS) is disabled when
  you run DSNTIJCI, CHECK INDEX processing can fail with the
  symptoms noted in the Problem Description area because DB2
  catalog statistics are unavailable or incomplete.  Note that
  RTS is disabled when DB2 is started with ACCESS(MAINT) and
  deferred processing for all databases, table spaces, and
  indexes (DSN6SPRM.DEFER ALL).
  

Problem conclusion

• In response, this APAR adds a new, optional job step, DSNRS1,
  to DSNTIJCI, ahead of DSNCI1, the job step for checking indexes
  on DB2 catalog table spaces affected by ENFM.
  
  If you run DSNTIJCI with RTS disabled, you can uncomment job
  step DSNRS1 to perform RUNSTATS processing on those table
  spaces to make statistics for them available to CHECK INDEX.
  Note that any manual updates to statistics for these objects
  will be replaced.
