APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS' ALT function panel ADB27C
  'ALTER Table's handling of the default value for the fields
  'Lenght' and 'Scale' for newly inserted columns having a
  'Col Type' of 'TIMESTAMP' is inconsistent.
  When the initial values for both fields are zero, pressing enter
  causes the fields to be changes to 7 and 0 respectively.
  Clearing the fields manually will cause the values to change to
  10 and 6 respectively.

  The default scale of the TIMESTAMP column is 6 and the default
  length is 10.  DB2 Admin should use these default values for
  the TIMESTAMP column if the length and scale are not specified
  by the user.
