• This APAR improves the performance of prefix resolution and
  enables HPPR to support the WF2OUT, SKIPLCR3 and SPLITWF3
  keywords in the FABYIN control statement to tune performance.

  IMS High Performance Prefix Resolution for z/OS has been
  modified so that it can support new keywords
  (WF2OUT, SKIPLCR3, SPLITWF3) in FABYIN control statements
  to improve performance.
  
  WF2OUT specifies whether to use the intermediate WF2 data set,
  FABYWF2, instead of the HPPRPIPE service. Specifying
  WF2OUT=YES with TYPE=LO can eliminate CPU time associated with
  the HPPRPIPE service, and reduce the space required for the
  sort work data sets defined by SORTWKnn instead of LPLCWKnn
  and TWINWKnn.
  
  SKIPLCR3 specifies whether to suppress generating the
  intermediate WF3 records for logical child segments when the
  logical child segments have no direct pointers, such as
  direct LP and direct LT pointers. Specifying SKIPLCR3=YES with
  UPDATE=YES or UPDATE=NO can improve the performance of the job
  when there are many logical child segments without direct
  pointers.
  
  SPLITWF3 specifies whether to use multiple output data sets,
  FABYW3nn, in addition to DFSURWF3 for the intermediate WF3
  records. You can get multiple output data sets, FABYW3nn and
  DFSURWF3, by specifying SPLITWF3=YES with UPDATE=NO to run
  multiple prefix update jobs concurrently for each of the
  output data sets.
