Error description

• Abstract:
  Using chevrons or bold text in an element description results in
  'The XML page cannot be displayed' error in Rational Rhapsody
  Application Server.
  
  Error Description:
  Attempts to use chevrons(??) or bold text in a description for
  an element and accessing the elements description using it?s
  Global Unique Identifier(GUID) on the IBM Rational Rhapsody
  Application Server results in error ?The XML page cannot be
  displayed?.
  
  Reproducing the probem:
  1. Create some bold Rich Text Format(RTF) text in Wordpad or
  Microsoft Word, and copy it to the clipboard.
  
  2. Create a new project in Rational Rhapsody and create a class
  and paste from the clipboard into the classes description tab in
  the Features dialog.
  
  3. Start the Application Server by selecting Tools? Rational
  Publishing Engine? Generate Report, and then cancel the
  Generation Wizard.
  
  4. Create the URL to paste into your browser in the form
  http://hostname/model name
  Where the hostname is the Application Server address found in
  the running server console:
  For example http://localhost:27463/Rational/Rhapsody/
  And the model name is your project title:
  For example: Project Giving a Uniform Resource Locator(URL):
  http://localhost:27463/Rational/Rhapsody/Project
  
  5. Paste the URL into you browser and press [Return].
  
  6. Find you class once the XML has loaded by pressing Ctrl+F
  For example: class_0.
  
  7. Open using your browser the href with a GUID included for
  this element.
  
  RESULT:
  You will receive the error:
  'The XML page cannot be displayed'.
  
  WORKAROUND:
  Instead of pasting/copying the text into Rational Rhapsody, you
  can manually type the text into Rhapsody, which will then be
  correctly formatted.
