Error description

  • The problem occurs when a DEFINE REPLACE or ALTER is
issued for a QALIAS/QLOCAL/QREMOTE or QMODEL
QSGDISP(GROUP) object by a queue-manager which is at
V710, while there are other queue-managers in the
group still at V701 without the PTF for PM72079
    applied.
    .
The DEFINE REPLACE or ALTER causes the local
    QSGDISP(COPY) objects on the V701 queue-managers to
have some incorrect settings, which results in the
5C6-00D400AD when migrating to migrating to V710
(no problems are seen at V701).
    .
Once the problem has occurred, falling-back to V701
and then issuing a DEFINE REPLACE or or ALTER against
    the QSGDISP(GROUP) objects from a V701 queue-manager
    will resolve the problem
(as will a DELETE of the QSGDISP(COPY) object).
    .
Applying the PTF for PM72079 will prevent the problem
from occurring again as a result of any subsequent
DEFINE REPLACE or ALTER commands against group objects.
However, it will not fix-up the queues which are
already in the incorrect state. To do this a
DEFINE REPLACE or ALTER will be required as mentioned
    above.
    .
The purpose of this fix is to reduce the complexity of the
rollout once the v7.1 fix is deployed.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When a queue manager is migrated to V710 from V701 which doesn't
have PTF UK83721 applied (APAR PM72079) then it terminates on
    initialisation with 5C6-00D400AD.
This happens when there are already V710 queue managers in the
QSG on which QSGDISP(GROUP) objects have been defined, of the
type QLOCAL, QALIAS, QREMOTE or QMODEL. The COPY objects thus
generated have the fExtend3 flag set on, however the MQxO
blocks for those objects still have the V701 length.
This results in the CSQM_ABEND_CUSTOM_ERROR (00D400AD) when
    CSQICRE2 calls kpiApplyCustom macro.

Problem conclusion

  • CSQIERS3 has been changed so that it checks the fExtend3 flag
for QSGDISP(COPY) objects, and if it is ON it will set it to
OFF if the corresponding MQxO object is not of the length
    expected in V710.
