PI04987: Installation Manager: ABE_STARTER AND RSH SYMBOLIC LINKS POINT TO THE WRONG TARGETS

Error description

IBM Rational ClearCase is capable of executing multiple
clearmake builds in parallel on UNIX or Linux by using the
standard installed remote shell facility, referenced through the
ccase-home-dir/etc/rsh symbolic link. On ClearCase 8.x the rsh
and abe_starter links incorrectly point to /usr/ucb/rsh on
Linux, AIX and HP-UX. Here are examples of the broken links:

Linux

On Linux and AIX they should point to /usr/bin/rsh. On HP-UX
they should point to /usr/bin/remsh.

Steps to reproduce: Install ClearCase 8.x on an affected
platform.

Workarounds:
1. Create a symbolic link at /usr/ucb/rsh that points to the
proper rsh or remsh executable.
2. Replace the broken symbolic links with links to the proper
executable.
3. Set the environment variable CCASE_ABE_STARTER_PN to the
proper executable path.
