APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Significant performance degradation in CICS internal trace
  when vendor trace intercept is active, e.g. when used by
  TMON / DynaTrace.
  There appears to be an increase in POSTs and WAITs in
  DFHTRPT.

• Turn OFF Monitoring and Logging in TMON.

  Independent Software Vendor (ISV) products which intercept
  CICS trace suffer a performance degradation due to locking
  in the CICS Trace Domain.
  In the reported case there was significant WAIT/POST
  activity in SYSTRACE.
  In the reported case, the ISV product was TMON / DYNATRACE.
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS has been modified to reduce unnecessary locking during
  trace processing.
