APAR status

  • Closed as new function.

Error description

  • In a single signon IMS environments, when a terminal connection
    is lost,
    the existing IMS session can remain active as an orphan.
    Subsequent signon
    attempts by the same user are then rejected with DFS3649A
    RC=240. To
    recover, the user must either wait for the ALOT/ASOT timeout or
    have an
    operator manually issue /STO USER or /CLSDST NODE commands.

    This APAR enhances IMS ETO Support to provide a new option
    (FORCE SIGNOFF
    ON SIGNON) that, when enabled, automatically disconnects the
    existing
    session before signon so that the user can sign on without
    manual
    intervention or timeout delays. The automatic disconnection
    occurs only
    when the password or passphrase is verified as correct by RACF.

    Use case - Eliminate operator intervention and ASOT timeout
    delays for
    users blocked by orphan sessions in single signon environments

    *                      a single signon environment. When       *
    * enabled, IMS ETO Support automatically *
    * closes an existing session, allowing *
    * the signon to proceed instead of being *
