Error description

  • DLL side-deck files that include binder RENAME control
    statements encounter linker unresolved symbol errors when
    renaming symbols in Open XL-compiled object files.
        IEW2456E 9207 SYMBOL TEST_FUNC UNRESOLVED.
    
    RENAME control statements in side-deck files are coded as:
        ...
         RENAME 'TEST_FUNC','ORIG_FUNC'
        ...
         IMPORT CODE64,'MY_DLL','ORIG_FUNC'
    
    Open XL object symbols have their 'Renameable Flag' set to B'0'
    (https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zos/3.2.0?topic=formats-external-s
    ymbol-definition-record).
    

Local fix

  • The issue can be worked around by manually mapping the symbol
    names using the #pragma map functionality:
    
    int TEST_FUNC();
    
    #pragma map(TEST_FUNC, "ORIG_FUNC")
