PH71949: WEB RECEIVE OR CONVERSE WITH RTIMOUT OF NO INCORRECTLY RESULTS IN TIMEOUT OF 18 HOURS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A CICS task issues an EXEC CICS WEB RECEIVE or WEB CONVERSE
  command.  The task's profile specifies an RTIMOUT of NO which
  means that the program should wait indefinitely for a response
  from the remote server.  However CICS incorrectly sets a timeout
  of approximately 18 hours on the suspend (65535 seconds).

  CONVERSE command, where the transaction PROFILE has RTIMOUT set
  to NO (wait indefinitely), unexpectedly experiences a socket
  read timeout of approximately 18 hours (65,535 seconds) instead
  of waiting indefinitely for a response from the remote server.
  

Problem conclusion

• The DFHEIWB module has been corrected to ensure the RTIMOUT
  value is correctly passed.
