    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the IBM-provided PTF.                  *
    ****************************************************************
    The compiler failed to recognize the reference to a fixed
    character length UTF-8 data item when used with LENGTH OF
    special register which cause the compiler to abort with internal
    compiler error.

Problem conclusion

  • The compiler was updated to ensure that LENGTH OF special
    register can be used correctly with fixed character length UTF-8
    data items.
