Closed as program error.
Error description
SQL PA went into a loop and subsequently abending when processing SQL statements larger than 32 KB in the Explain Package function. Although SQL size limitations exist due to the PL/I compiler, SQL PA should handle such SQL gracefully by issuing an error message and stop writing in the dataset.
Local fix
Split SQL into several smaller SQL's
Problem summary
1) SQL PA hung during Package Explain processing when a package contained SQL statements larger than 32 KB, causing both Static and Dynamic Explain to fail. 2) The SORT function did not work on panel ANLPSELH (DSN_STATEMENT_CACHE_TABLE).
Problem conclusion
1) Added proper handling for oversized SQL statements. Static Explain now processes the package correctly, while Dynamic Explain reports an error and recommends using Static Explain instead of hanging. 2) Fixed the SORT function on panel ANLPSELH, restoring correct sorting behavior.
Temporary fix
