Error description

  • This was an abend0c4 (abends0c4 ) in module EYU0PSCC + x'30A'.

    A dump occurred with title:

    TITLE=EYU9XLRV Dump,..,..,CPUB,CMAS,PSLT,taskid,ASRA,EYU0PSCC

From the dump, Kernel Error table summary showed:
    .. Err_Code Module Offset

    .. 0C4/AKEA EYU9PS00 0002F502
    .. ---/ASRA DFHSR1 000006F4

(Where EYU9PS00 is the load module. The 0c4 occurred in a module

    within this, EYU0PSCC ).

The abend occurred while in Access Register mode.
This mode was set to be able to access a PSAD block within a
    data space (DATASPC1).
An Access List Entry Token (ALET) is used to key to a data
    space.
However the ALET value was not updated to reflect the correct
data space (DATASPC1) containing the PSAD block to be
    accessed.
The access attempt went to a data space (DATASPC2) whose
addressing range did not contain the address used and this
    tripped the 0c4.

    In more detail:
Both General purpose Register 8 and Access Register 8 are used
    to address the data space.
    GR8 is x00000000 00FFFF00 and AR8 is x01010081 (the ALET).

To show the ALET values, and address range for the data spaces:

IPCS VERBX eyu9dxxx 'RTA,TOP' (where xxx is the CICS TS
    version, e.g. 610)

VERBX Cache Record Id Table - Data Space Summary
Type Alet Token Name Low High Pages
    Private 01010080 AA0000A0 DATASPC1 00001000 01FFF000 00001FFF
    Private 01010081 AA0001A0 DATASPC2 00001000 00100000 00000100

The PSAD block was in DATASPC1, but the ALET was not
x01010080 to be able to address it.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: While updating CICS System *
    * Definitions (CSYSDEF) using WUI, the *
    * CMAS experienced an S0C4 program check *
    * ABEND in the CPSM RTA long running task *
    * PSLT. The failure occurred in module *
    *                      EYU0PSCC.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: The PTFs addressing this APAR should be *
    * applied to all CPSM regions, and the regions *
    * should be restarted. The restart of CICS *
    * regions can be performed in any order. *
    ****************************************************************
The program check occurred when CPSM RTA was processing a CICS
system update and navigating internal control blocks in
access register mode. Although the code correctly established
addressability to the RTA CICS System Descriptor (PSRD), it
failed when subsequently accessing the Active CICS System
Descriptor (PSAD), which was located in a different RTA data
    space.
This led to an invalid storage reference and a program check.

Problem conclusion

  • The EYU0PSCC module has been updated to ensure that the access
register is loaded with the correct data space ALET value when
addressing the Active CICS System Descriptor (PSAD).
