PH70597: ABEND / DUMP DURING THE BAS OPERATION. WHEN CMAS JOURNALING IS ENABLED FOR OPERATIONS (JRNLOPACT), MODULE XLSJ ABENDS.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The abends are causing an exception in XLSJ. This module is
  used for CMAS journaling. In this case, the error seems to occur
  when a WLMDEF has been installed into a CICSplex. The install
  completes successfully, from method WMWU, and the subsequent
  calls through to XLSJ to write a journal record to record this
  action do not complete successfully, because it performs the
  action on the active workload. This behavior also impacts
  journal records being written (when CMAS journaling is enabled
  for operations JRNLOPACT) for WLMGROUP installs also, as these
  have a similar path.
  
  This fix will address the dump from XLSJ when CMAS journaling is
  enabled for operations (JRNLOPACT) and a WLMDEF is required to
  be installed into an existing active workload (WLMAWORK).
  

Local fix

• This only prevents CMAS journaling from recording these actions
  and seems limited to a single abend for a running CMAS, without
  affecting the install steps.

  When JRNLOPACT(YES) is set to enable CMAS journaling for
  operation actions. The actions of installing a WLMDEF or
  WLMGROUP into an active WLM workload (WLMAWORK) are not expected
  to write a journal record. However, incorrectly XLSJ calls XLBJ
  to locate the fields and generate a record, which fails as these
  are not available for this action, resulting in a dump in
  EYU0XLSJ, with message EYUXZ0910I . Only a single dump will be
  taken for journal errors in XLSJ until the CMAS region is
  restarted.
  

Problem conclusion

• The install action for these resources have been corrected to
  ensure a journal record is not attempted to be written.
